Boon Edam and Gilgen strengthen high-security expertise together
What happens when you bring together two teams of entrance specialists for a deep dive into high-security solutions?
A lot of learning, fresh perspectives, great conversations and, naturally, a few kilometres on Dutch bicycles.

We recently welcomed colleagues from our long-standing partner Gilgen Switzerland to our headquarters in Edam for several days of technical training, hands-on experience and closer collaboration.
The visit brought together our specialist knowledge of high-security entrance solutions and Gilgen's technical expertise and understanding of its local market. By combining our different strengths, we can better understand customer challenges and deliver solutions with greater confidence.
Getting closer to the technology
As part of its continued investment in high-security solutions, Gilgen selected field sales colleagues to develop specialist knowledge in our product range.
This team joined us in Edam for a programme combining technical training, practical demonstrations, a factory tour and the latest insights from our product management team.
And the learning didn't stop at our headquarters. The group also explored Amsterdam by bicycle, visiting several projects to see our entrance solutions in action.
From the factory floor to real buildings, the programme connected technical knowledge with practical experience. Seeing our solutions in action gave Gilgen's specialists a deeper understanding of how security, accessibility and building performance come together, helping them recommend solutions that respond to different customer needs.
Different languages, shared understanding
With conversations taking place in German, French, English, Dutch and Swiss-German, the visit was a genuinely international experience.
But beyond the technical sessions, it was the personal connections that made the visit particularly valuable. Colleagues from across Boon Edam shared their knowledge, exchanged experiences and took time to get to know their Gilgen counterparts.
For Pieter Rol, Managing Director of Boon Edam Global Export, the value of these visits goes beyond sharing technical knowledge:
"Our products are strong and our services add value, but it is our people who make the real difference."
That belief has shaped the way we work with international partners for generations. By bringing together global expertise and local understanding, we build lasting relationships based on trust and a shared commitment to delivering the right solutions for customers.
Building on what we know, together
For Gilgen's developing high-security specialists, the visit marked another important step in building their capabilities and identifying new opportunities in the Swiss market.
For both teams, it reinforced the value of bringing different perspectives and experience together.
Our partnership with Gilgen reflects how we approach international collaboration: combining specialist knowledge, local insight and long-term commitment. By continuing to invest in our people and partnerships, we strengthen our ability to respond to changing customer needs, support building performance and deliver reliable entrance solutions for years to come.
