Boon Edams' Sustainability Performance

Reducing energy usage is at the cradle of Boon Edams’ revolving door. Being green is part of Boon Edams’ DNA. We reflect upon the past and take this forward to the future. We focus on our successes and drive forward through our commitments, our care and our innovation.

We concluded we needed to get more factual to support the need of our most important stakeholders:

• Our customers
• Our employees
• Our partners
• The world we live in

Our Sustainability Performance Program was born. In this program we set-up the fundamentals to deliver our sustainability ambition.

Our products are part of buildings, security and facilities all over the world. Our customers are taking their responsibility and changing to a more sustainable development. We are changing with them and support opportunities, challenges and new obligations our value chain is facing.

Boon Edam cannot deliver our stakeholders requirements if we do not get factual. Regarding our product, our material, our processes and throughout our value chain / supply chain. Our sustainability performance depends on the sustainability performance (and facts) of our supply chain and we are not in the position to accept insufficient performance (lack of facts/evidence).

Using our first sustainability rating and our double materiality assessment we did priority setting. We are very aware we are only a link in our value chain and supply chain. To make a real difference we need to cooperate with partners. That specific UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG17) together with our people (SDG4), product (SDG11 and SDG13) and process (SDG12 and SDG13) focus are incorporated in our internal scopes. Safety & health, Value preservation and CO2 footprint. 

In 2026, we will strengthen the foundation for our sustainability performance by focusing on:

• Implementing non-financial reporting across all subsidiaries
• Transferring LCA and EPD creation and validation to One Click LCA and EPD Hub
• Setting a clear standard for ESG-related customer requirements and expectations

Sustainability is not a goal. It is an essential means to reach our Continuity goal (another 150 years). Sustainability of our people and practise (our enterprise), our Product and Materials and our Supply chain.
