The Opus

The Building that Never Sleeps

The Opus is one of the newest additions to the expanding impressive skyline of Dubai. The building is a masterpiece of design, construction and space by Omniyat and world renowned architect Dame Zaha Hadid.

The skyline of downtown Dubai (close to the Burj Khalifa which also proudly boasts a Boon Edam revolving door) is forever changed by the arrival of this extraordinary building. The Opus has a stunning organic void at the heart of the building and combines private residences and a boutique hotel - operated by the leading hotelier group - ME by Melia Hotels International.

Twice the Impression

Boon Edam were chosen to supply and install two Tourniket revolving doors – one in each of the two towers due to the products flexibility of glass soffit and solid canopy. These architectural doors were delivered with an option of an in-floor drive or overhead drive and tastefully finished with a simple black powder coating to complement each of the two main entrances.

The product specifications for both towers are outlined below:

Tower A:

  • Product: 1 x Automatic 3-wing Tourniket
  • Diameter: 2900mm
  • Height: 3700mm
  • Canopy Height: 300mm recessed into the ceiling
  • Electrical: 6 x LED downlights and overhead drive
  • Finish: Black power coating

Tower B:

  • Product: 1 x Automatic 3-wing Tourniket
  • Diameter: 2900mm

Level Up on Aesthetics

The Tourniket is one of a range of products which is easy to level up in many areas – including aesthetics. If the finishes are important to you then there are unlimited and flexible options available to you such as a wide variety of colours, substrates and finishes. In many buildings a powder coated or anodised aluminium version is chosen due to its durable features but this can easily be finished in virtually any colour you can think of.

Not only colour choice is flexible, we can also work with you on the substrate itself such as a wood cladded Tourniket which takes you back to the early history of the revolving door and gives a classic, retro look, while a stainless steel or mirror finished look can create a modern or even futuristic impression.
